As they say, "those whose palm-kernels were cracked for them by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble", we Africans have forgotten.
The western broke the palm-kernel for Africans but we have forgotten so soon. African leaders get into power by promising its citizens heaven as in the Kenyan case too.
We vote them in knowing that they are going to rescue us but the irony is that they are the genesis of all our troubles.
During campaigns, they fly with big choppers and vehicles all-round the country, especially in Kenya trying to convince us that they are not like the predecessors.
Yes, they seem not to be the same but they are just wearing a different cloth though having the same frontal lobe of the brain; meaning the same decision making and reasoning. When they get into power after the elections, then you will know that they are the same people but with different attires.
Once they get the sword of power from the commander of the armed forces, they now start making decisions in an orthodox way favouring them or their community alone.
After one term of leadership, they want to be elected again, why? They are subjecting us to poor health care, poor living conditions, no job, people are employed on the basis of whom you know rather than what you know, heavy taxes, threats and corruption.
What should we poor citizens do? Why do we recycle the same leaders? Are there no other people who can lead us well?
No, there are but we voters make bad choices hence we are the ones who create but can't destroy the predicaments.
My fellow Kenyans, we need to wake up from slumber if we are to reap the ripe fruits in this coming general elections.
Let us not look at their titles, amount of wealth they possess, ethnic backgrounds but their ideologies. We should place everybody who claims to be a leader to a litmus test. We know what they have done and what they are capable of doing when given a chance.
In this world there is room for everyone, and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls, has barricaded the world with hate, and has goose-stepped us into misery and hatred.
We need to change fellow Kenyans. Let us vote in leaders who can uplift us to the next level.
Who can help the needy Kenyans who beg for money along the roadside, they were also created by God and they are human beings too.

"Power isn't control at all--power is strength, and giving that strength to others. A leader isn't someone who forces others to make him stronger; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have the strength to stand on their own." Beth Revis.
