A gunman has shot dead a primary school teacher in Kilifi and robbed money from her daughter.

Pauline Sena Kazungu, a teacher at Mtondia Primary School who also operates an M-pesa shop in kilifi town, was shot dead at her house at Mkoroshini Village on Friday.

Police allege the killer came dressed as a woman in a flowing dress.

Yesterday, Kilifi OCPD Joshua ole Leina said, "He came dressed in a buibui, sneaked into the house of the teacher who also runs an M-Pesa shop and shot her dead before he fled away with unknown amount of money."

The bereaved daughter said the attacker got into the house while she was outside.

"I heard some noise and when I rushed to my mother's room, I found the door locked from inside by the robber who later opened it before he confronted me with a pistol," she said.

Police believe she was shot after refusing to give money.
