Ethiopian bandits shoot police reservist dead

A Kenya Police Reserve (KPR) officer was killed in Marsabit County on Saturday while escorting a lorry.

 Acting County Police Commander Mark Wanjala said the officer was escorting the lorry from Illiret when they were stopped by suspected Ethiopian bandits and were sprayed with bullets when they failed to stop.

The incident happened at Karare as the lorry headed to Loiyangalani and the dead officer was identified as Abdi Edin. The police boss said patrols had been intensified in the area after the incident.
