KENYA: A Nakuru Court has ordered that the convicted police imposter, Joshua Waiganjo, be produced to appear in court tomorrow.
Mr Waiganjo, who was recently jailed for five years by a Naivasha court for impersonating a police officer, will appear in court for the first time in a case where he is facing three counts of impersonation.
Senior Resident Magistrate Joe Omido required that Waiganjo appeared for resetting of the hearing dates. Waiganjo still insists he is an assistant police commissioner but has failed to prove it. During the previous hearing of the case in Nakuru, Senior Superintendent of Police and Mbooni police boss Peter Nthiga narrated how untouchable Waiganjo was.
Mr Nthiga said it was hard to unravel who Waiganjo really was. He added that Waiganjo's identity was guarded by senior officers.
Former Rift Valley police boss John M'Mbijiwe and former head of Anti-Stock Theft Unit Remi Ngugi are jointly charged with Waiganjo on counts of abuse of office. Mr M'Mbijiwe is facing three counts of abuse of office while Mr Ngugi, then commander at the Gilgil headquarters, allegedly allowed Waiganjo to use a Government vehicle.
