Fish farmers will be able to export fish to Africa and Europe according to Principal Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture Prof Michemi Ntiba who is in charge of Livestock and Fisheries.

"Government is committed to support fisheries activities, we have passed a policy on exportation of farmed fish which will see you export much, and will keep a database of all fish farmers and stakeholders to help us support this farming," he told hundreds of farmers in Matungu.

He at the same time encouraged private investors and other stakeholders like Farm Africa which carried exhibitions on farming to help farmers add value in their farming.

He lauded the Kenya, Israel and Germany trilateral agreement aimed at protecting Lake Victoria by empowering fish farming.

"We have had strong players like Bidii feeds who have gone in leaps to package and sell quality feeds to let all players in this agribusiness aspire to be the best," he said.

Farm Africa held a demonstration stand of the AquaShops and explained to participants on need to buy quality inputs from registered aqua shops.
