National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso has said attempts by the Myoot Council of Elders to reconcile leaders from the county may not succeed if Governor Isaac Ruto does not stop demeaning other leaders.

Speaking in her Sotik constituency on Saturday, Laboso said she is ready for the talks and added that all the leaders must be honest in the negotiations.

"I have been approached several times by the Myoot Council of Elders and I want to state that I am not opposed to their attempts to mediate. My greatest worry is the governor's continued derogatory reference to us MPs as 'those from Nairobi'," said Laboso.
