A 13-year-old girl has died after she was bitten by a dog suspected to be suffering from rabies. The Standard Seven pupil in Nyaururu Primary School passed on yesterday at Longisa Hospital after her parents rushed her there after she became sick.
Kiplabotwa Chief Stanley Towett said the girl and six others were bitten by the dog on September 20.
"Her parents did not take the issue seriously and thought the girl had healed. However, she developed some fever last Monday and was rushed to the hospital but passed on," Mr Towett said. The other girls received treatment immediately after being bitten and were in good health.
