Kidero warns of imposter using Sonko's name to con Kenyans

NAIROBI: City Governor Evans Kidero has warned of an imposter on social media using his name to con people in the name of freebie at a small fee.

Kidero also says the imposter has dragged the name of Senator Mike Sonko.

"Please be warned that this is an imposter using my name and that of Senator Mike Sonko in vain to con innocent Nairobi residents. I have not organized any event that will donate motorcycles as claimed" said Kidero.

The who imposter operates an online page titled "Evans Kidero" has been claiming that City Hall, Sonko Rescue Team and Evans Kidero Foundation has organised a charity and is giving out nine motorbikes to deserving youths across the country.

The fictitious project was to kick off on October 7 targeting youths who will be able to pay for purported log books. The cheat goes ahead to ask for participants personal details.

Kidero has urged city residents to ignore the said partnership. "Stay safe" he says.
