Leaders from the Jubilee coalition are today expected to troop to Ruiru in Kiambu County for a prayer meeting organised for Deputy President William Ruto and radio journalist Joshua Sang.

Central Kenya and Nairobi Parliamentary caucus chairman and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru said the meeting would be similar to that one held last week at Kiptororo Stadium in Kuresoi, Nakuru County.

Speaking when he accompanied Ruto and other leaders during the opening of the Central Kenya ASK Show, Waweru, said Central Kenya was united in praying for the two Kenyans facing charges at the International Criminal Court.

"We pray that nobody will ever divide Kenyans," he said.

Waweru and other leaders who included Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua, MPs Esther Murugi (Nyeri Town), Kanini Kega (Kieni) and Mary Wambui (Othaya) accused the ICC of general profiling of the Kalenjin community as warriors.

They said the court had conspired to victimise one community through the cases facing the Deputy President and the radio journalist.

Kega further accused ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda of being out to ensure the DP jailed, and urged Kenyans to unite in prayers seeking the acquittal of the duo.

"We all know that it started with six Kenyans at the ICC and the number has gone down to two. We will ensure no Kenyan will be jailed by a foreign court," said Kega.

He said the government and Kenyans should exert pressure on the ICC to ensure it does not incorporate evidence recanted by witnesses, adding that it would beat the rule of natural justice.

The leaders vowed to mobilise the Central Kenya community to Mt Kenya and Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga shrine, the cradle of the Gikuyu community, to pray for Ruto and Sang.
