Naivasha, Kenya: Three people, including two prominent Naivasha businessmen, have died in a grisly accident along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road.
The Sunday night head-on collision occurred near Longonot police post and involved a personal car in which the three were traveling and two trailers.
The trio died on the spot while occupants of the two trailers escaped unscathed in the accident that adversely affected the flow of traffic on the busy road. The bodies were transferred to Naivasha sub-county referral hospital mortuary.
A witness, Joel Mwathi, said that the personal car which was heading to Mai Mahiu town from Naivasha had overtaken a fleet of vehicles when it rammed into an oncoming lorry and rolled to the roadside.

Naivasha OCPD Titus Munyoki said initial investigations showed that the driver of the personal car was speeding, adding that further investigations into the accident had been launched.
Munyoki said that the mangled wrecks were towed to Naivasha police station.
