Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hinted on a possible merger with Muungano party ahead of the 2017 general election.
Speaking to the Press at Maanzoni, where the party was holding a two-day retreat, Mr Kalonzo said Muungano party leader Kivutha Kibwana is willing to work with Wiper.
"We are working out a working methodology with Muungano party. We are open about this," he said.
Talks of a possible merger of the two parties were mooted during the burial of Prof Kibwana's father. The Makueni Governor has a close working relationship with the former Vice President whom he accompanied to a church function in Machakos on Sunday and to the Wiper retreat later in the day.
However, his visit to Machakos did not go down well with Governor Alfred Mutua's office, with the latter terming the former hypocritical and a turncoat.
