Some members of the county assembly have accused MPs from the county of snubbing Deputy President William Ruto's function at Naroosura last Saturday.

Led by Majority Leader Stephen Kudate and his deputy Wilson Masikonde, the MCAs said it is disrespectful for the MPs to stay away from functions that are meant to bring development to the county.

Speaking yesterday in Narok, the 10 MCAs asked the MPs to quit the Jubilee coalition if they feel dissatisfied with the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy.

"It is saddening that MPs, who are duty bound to ensure the success of Jubilee's manifesto have formed a habit of snubbing Ruto's functions. It is clear they no longer support our manifesto and should thus resign," said Mr Kudate. He said MPs who have been opposing Governor Samuel Tunai have resorted to clan and tribal politics, which he said will divide the county.

Senator Stephen Ntutu, MPs Patrick Ntutu (Narok West), Korei ole Lemein (Narok South), Johana Ngeno (Emurwa Dikirr) and Moitalel ole Kenta have sworn they will not attend functions convened by Mr Tunai and attended by national leaders. Narok East MP Ken Kiloku and Gideon Konchella (Kilgoris) have supported Tunai and were not in attendance.
