Danish government commits Sh10b for green growth initiatives

The Danish government has committed Sh10 billion in support of the green growth initiative that seeks to sustain resources and increase efficiency.
According to Denmark Deputy Head of mission Lars Bredal, the funds would be channeled to the country in a period of five years.
He said that his government was committed to assisting Kenya achieve Vision 2030 through the Global Green Growth initiative.
"The Global Green Growth initiative is a win-win situation and we shall assist sectors that the Kenyan government will identify," he said.
Bredal was speaking to the press in Enashipai Spa in Naivasha during the official opening of the consultative meeting on Green Growth programme.

The PS for industrialization Dr Wilson Songa challenged government departments to make sure they are ready before the projected El Nino rains hits the country.

Songa said that communities living in flood prone areas and on highlands should start moving out to avoid loss of life and property.
