The National Land Commission (NLC) through its Chairman Muhammad Swazuri has ordered that all land-buying companies be wound up once they are done allocating land to the rightful owners.
According to Mr Swazuri, the move will see the end to bloody conflicts.
“The commission is determined to end the squabbling in land-buying companies, some of which has led to bloodletting as in the recent case of Kihiu Mwiri, where several directors have been killed,” he said in Kieni East.
Kieni MP Kanini Kega supported the directive, saying: “Drastic action should be taken against firms that have refused to wind up even after serving their purpose.”
