At least three people were killed in Marsabit County after they were ambushed by armed men. The attackers reportedly disappeared into the bush after the attack at Larachi, Mt Kulal area in Loiyangalani on Thursday morning.
The victims were heading to Loiyangalani market.
County Police Commander Bernard Kogo said two men and a woman died during the attack.
The police boss said the motive of the attack was yet to be established. He, however, played down fears that the attack was ethnic, saying the victims were from different communities.
More than 10 people have been killed in the area in past few months in tribal fighting between the Turkana and Samburu communities.
