Members of clergy have lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta's stand against legalisation of same-sex marriages terming it "God's Victory".
Speaking to The Standard, Bishops including Joseph Obanyi (Catholic Diocese of Kakamega), Simon Oketch (Anglican Diocese of Maseno North), Joseph Kinuthia (Broken Chain Ministries) and Johnstone Wandera (Kakamega Dominion Christ Church) said Kenya is a religious and cultural nation that will not condone western cultures blindly.
"The president made us proud. His firm stand shows the State is determined to respect our constitution and culture as Africans," said Bishop Obanyi.
Bishop Oketch said president is genuine in improving welfare of Kenyans.
"Our president was clear, we will never compromise our culture and faith to please western nations," said Bishop Wandera.
