Tharaka residents have vowed to ditch Jubilee coalition, citing being sidelined in the recent appointments by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Community elders faulted the appointments, saying they have not been represented despite the area being a Jubilee stronghold.
Speaking at Marimanti during Bunge la Mwanachi debate, they threatened to join Coalition for Reforms and Democracy.
"We cannot be supporting governments for more than 50 years yet they are not helping us, we will join any political party that is ready to work with us," said Kimathi Mugwika, one of the elders.
They also blamed their senator Kindiki Kithure, who is also the Senate Majority Leader for what they termed as failure on his part to influence change in their favour.
