I have been watching TV for days, trying to absorb every piece of news and analysis on the Garissa massacre. To say I am deeply saddened is an understatement. Like every other Kenyan, I am guilty of not having done much every time we have been hit by terrorists.
I could easily have been a mother to these children. Tears roll when I see a family in distress. Being forced to view badly decomposed bodies while trying to identify their kin.
I cry out in anguish, angry that it has now come to this.
But in the midst of this sorrow and anguish, the Lord speaks out: Fear not, for I have good plans for Kenya. What the enemy intended for evil, I will turn it around for good.
Fellow Kenyans, we will not despair, wondering when the next attack will be and who will go next.
But it will not go that way because God is in control. The plans He has for Kenya are not for evil but for good to give Kenya a future and a hope.
Four things however need to happen:
1. Repentance
We are guilty of this or that. Some of us neglected to pray for our country; neglected to build godly relationships; accepted to be bribed or to bribe. We must search our hearts and see how else we can do things differently.
2.Pray
If there was a time every Kenyan should lift up the nation in prayer, it is now; individual or in groups. Even if it is two words, pray! Prayer simply means we are turning to God and enthroning him above our security.
It is an acknowledgement that unless He watches over our city, our KDF, APs and the rest watch in vain. When King Jehoshaphat was faced with a large enemy and he knew he was overwhelmed, he turned to God.
3. Act
Paul and Silas were simply instructed to praise and worship God. King Jehoshaphat was told to assemble the Israelites to make melodies to God Almighty.
David was instructed to use a stone and sling. What is God instructing us to do? Because ultimately we must do something, for faith without works is dead.

4.Wisdom
James tells us to ask God for wisdom if we lack it. Wisdom means we begin to pray for those in authority instead of chastising them because the decisions they make will have far-reaching implications for us. Sending security forces to surround the university and do nothing for 10 hours during which our children were slaughtered is not wisdom.
Wisdom dictates that our President acquires a spiritual advisor if he does not have one already. Wisdom dictates that we drop those tribal lines and tags for we are not our own enemy-the enemy is out there and deadly. Wisdom means we purpose to know our neighbours thoroughly. Kenya is, has been and will always be a beautiful nation. We must protect our nation.
Shall we agree to be sitting ducks, sheep ready for slaughter? Never. Never will we lose our children again.
Never shall we witness such slaughter because God’s plans for us are good.
