It was song and dance for a 42-year-old mother of two who posted an impressive grade in the last year's KCSE results.
Jedida Nderitu, who scored a B- of 53 points at Ntharene Day Secondary in Imenti South Sub-County could not hide her joy.
Many celebrated her for the rare achievement.
When she walked into the school compound to receive her result, both students and teachers broke into songs and dance.
Striking results
"Am happy and proud of the striking results which I attained under very difficult circumstances. Despite being a mother of two, I wanted to upgrade my life to compete with others at an equal level," said the joyful mother.
Ms Nderitu, who has two boys, one of them a candidate at Chuka Boys and another at Chogoria Boarding Primary says she was working in a garage and selling clothes as well before finally deciding to go back to school.
Ms Nderitu dropped out of the school at St Monica Munyaka Secondary while in Form Two in 1994 due to lack of school fees.
Her class master Loyford Kinegeni said she was very hard working, determined and disciplined noting that the entire school is proud of her.
