Kapsabet wants Sh120,000 as Moi Forces settles for Sh82,000 as school fees

Kenya: Inquiries have revealed that schools are charging exorbitant fees for Form One students. Kapsabet Boys' is charging over Sh120,000. The figure includes Sh90,000 for tuition and boarding, and another Sh30,000 for games equipment, books, uniforms and bedding.

Kapsabet Girls' is charging over Sh90,000 including tuition, boarding and other requirements.

Chebisaas High school is charging Sh57,800 that includes Sh43,800 in the first term and Sh14,000 in the second.

St Joseph in Kitale is charging Sh51,167 with each student paying Sh27,678 in the first term, Sh15,967 second term and Sh7,522 for third term.

In addition, each student will pay Sh8,000 for the Parents Teachers Association, Sh7,200 for uniform, Sh500 in caution money, Sh200 for a school ID and Sh213 for vehicle insurance cover.

Moi Forces Academy is demanding for Sh82,000 per year in which Sh36,000 is payable in the first term. Alliance Girls' is charging Sh66,000 while Alliance Boys' is demanding almost Sh60,000

In Trans Nzioa County, St Anthony Boys' is charging Sh80,000 a year. Parents pay Sh41,000 in first term and Sh22,000 in second term while the balance is paid in third term.

At Chewoyet Secondary School, Form One students will pay Sh62,531 while Kapenguria Boys' is charging Sh54,400. Kapng'etuny County Boarding School is demanding Sh44,612 payable in two installments.
