Two people have been arrested for marrying off a 10-year-old girl from Olkinyei area in Narok South sub county, who was rescued by the police. The would-be husband and girl's father were yesterday nabbed at Ololulung'a police after being tipped.
The Standard Two pupil at Olarowan Primary had been given to a man, 29, after he paid dowry in a ceremony at Oldonyo Rasha village on Friday evening.
The Narok South acting Deputy County Commissioner Justus Musau, while condemning the act, said: "The Government will not relent in the fight against retrogressive practices."
