Some Jubilee leaders have dismissed calls for dialogue days after President Uhuru Kenyatta extended an olive branch for consultations with the Opposition.
The leaders vowed not to succumb to pressure from the leaders in the Opposition to compel the President and his Deputy William Ruto to heed their calls for dialogue.
The leaders said there is nothing to talk about claiming that the opposition only wants to take over power through the backdoor.
"As leaders we have never closed doors for consultation with leaders from other parties, but there are constitutional institutions for all inclusive decision making which should be utilised," said Kericho Senator Charles Keter.
Speaking at Matumbei primary school in Trans Nzoia County during a thanksgiving ceremony for the election of Member of County Assembly Philip Sakong, Keter said that the Opposition should wait for 2017 General Election if they are interested in power. Moiben MP Silas Tiren told CORD to respect the current leadership because it is the choice of Kenyans.
His Kigumo counterpart Jamleck Kamau asked CORD to wait until the next General Election to present their manifesto to the people and stop pushing the current leadership into unnecessary discussions.
