Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has asked members of county assemblies across the country to engage in improving the lives of Kenyans by passing laws that will benefit residents and avoid focusing on their own self-interests.

"I wish all Kenyans a happy and prosperous 2015. My advice goes to all MCAs especially those from Kakamega County that in the new year, they should focus on improving the living standards of the common mwananchi," Khalwale said.

UHURU LAWS

He asked the Government to be ready for a storm in the new year as the Opposition will take them head-on to ensure the new security laws, which he termed as 'Uhuru Laws', are not implemented.

He said the Government should practice democracy by involving all leaders and Kenyans in making laws that touch their lives.

"We will not tire to have the 'Uhuru Laws' not implemented as they are against the Constitution," he said, adding: "In the new year, we expect the Government to involve all Kenyans when making laws that touch on every Kenyan."

Khalwale asked Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya to lead as an example in the country by implementing 'bigger' projects that will transform the county.
