Hundreds of displaced families in Moyale sub-county are to benefit from millions of shillings released by both the national and county governments.
The money is expected to be in the personal accounts of those affected by the tribal clashes that rocked the area, from this week.
Speaking to The Standard, Deputy County Commissioner John Cheruiyot said the money was meant for resettling the displaced people.
Mr Cheruiyot said Sh180 million was released by the national government while Sh60 million was contributed by the county government.
He said all Government procedures had been followed to ensure the money reaches the right beneficiaries.
"We are expecting beneficiaries to receive the money from this week," he said while calling on locals to be patient.
The administrator urged locals to channel the funds to the reconstruction of houses.
"The money is met for reconstruction of houses only," he said.
