MOMBASA, KENYA: The 51-year-old Lengo Karisa Mudzomba, the man who made headline after hitting former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and Kwale County governor, Salim Mvurya during a referendum drive meeting in Kinango wants a face to face meeting with his victims.

This even as he explained that he was worried about his safety claiming that people in the streets were tormenting him wherever he goes a move that has forced him to move from his home in Kinango where he used to work to save his face.

In an address to the media at the offices of Haki Africa, a civil society organization group in Mombasa, Lengo said the direct meeting with the Cord principal and Kwale governor might be able to solidify forgiveness.

"Everywhere I go CORD supporters tell me that I am the man who hit their president. Raila is also my president and I feel bad about the whole incident. My conscious is clear and I have accepted wholly that it was an act of stupidity to do such a thing,'' he said noting that he was not guided by anyone to commit the act.

Lengo whose original home is Tsagwa in Kilifi County reiterated his remorse-fulness and said that he was keen on assuming a role as a Peace ambassador to preach peace among Kenyans.

Lengo who was flanked by his brother Samuel Kahindi Mdzomba said he had lived in Tanzania for 25 years and was never involved in any physical altercation or brawl of any sort and what happened was plainly a mistake due to frustration.

Haki Africa said that they were ready to facilitate the meeting between the three parties so that people can see that CORD leader and the governor had forgiven the man who publicly thwacked them.
