20 CID commanders moved in changes announced by director Ndegwa Muhoro

NAIROBI, KENYA: At least 20 senior CID commanders were Thursday moved in a reshuffle announced by CID director Ndegwa Muhoro.

Among those moved was Tom Omani who was named the new commandant of CID Training School in Nairobi, Baringo County head of CID Mary Kaol who was named the new Kenya Railways boss and Railway’s Judy Ndeda who was moved to Narok County in the same capacity.

Narok County’s CID commander Lidia Ligami was moved to CID headquarters investigations section and named the head of the newly created International Crimes Division.

Kirinyaga County’s Julius Rutere was moved to Uasin Gishu in the same capacity while Migori’s Violet Makhanu has been moved to training section at CID headquarters.

The head of training at CID headquarters Sospeter Munyi was moved to Migori and named the County CID commander while the new Kirinyaga commander will be George Kisaka.

Laikipia County CID boss Abdallah Komesha was moved to CID headquarters to replace Mr Omani while John Momanyi was named the new commander for Baringo. Komesha was replaced by Isaac Musyoki of Uasin Gishu.

Other new DCIOs named include Simon Mwongela (Siaya), Alfred Ouko (Kigumo), Herine Agola (Manga), Jackson Kieti (Kisumu), Juliana Muthini (Eldoret), Grace Mukuphe (Teso), Christopher Chesori (Molo), Ebby Mutali (Eldoret Airport) and Jacob Muchai (Mathira).

In Administration Police, Migori’s Mark Almaa swapped positions with Kisumu’s Gradius Atinda in changes.

At the Kenya Airports Police Unit, more than 100 new junior officers have been deployed there to beef up security. The junior officers were moved to the unit to boost security in the wake of many threats from various parties and expanding roles of the airports.

Other officials said Deputy Inspector General of regular police Grace Kaindi was expected to effect more changes and name new OCPDs at various levels.

The changes are usually aimed at checking crime levels at the affected places but pundits fault them saying they are not solving the situation.
