Kenya: School heads have been asked to take caution against radicalization of youths that is secretly crawling in to schools.

Mr Iringo said this was a big security threat in the country and asked all stakeholders to ensure Kenyan children are safe.

“Schools should be careful since terrorism is secretly being impacted in our children in schools,” He said.

He emphasized on inclusive participation of parents, teachers and community in strengthening the safety of the community.

“Emerging threat in security cannot be dealt with by security officers alone but includes every person in the country,” Mr Iringo said.

He said that Kenyan safety was at threat adding that only collective responsibility would help the situation.

Mr Iringo said the government was taking the issue of security very seriously and would ensure the safety of every Kenyan is secured.

The PS warned students against negative influence of the media and internet in their lives.

“There are many destructors today that sway the young people and prevent them from achieving their goals. Such should be discouraged,” He said.

He asked students to be careful when consuming media information saying vices such as drug abuse, alcoholism and terrorism were being spread through the media.

“Today access of information from the internet is easy and unrestricted. It is upon our young people to choose right from wrong,” Mr Iringo said.

He asked students to pursue education and make sure they become the best they can be.

“Students should work hard and avoid all things that will divert their attention from achieving their goals in life,” He said.

Mr Iringo called upon stakeholders to invest heavily in education as a method of empowering the youths in the country.
