Communications Authority taps into counties with Eldoret office

Kenya: Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has lauded the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) for establishing the first regional office in the county, a move likely to create jobs.

He said it would now be easy to help young innovative graduates on effective ways of anchoring their tech ideas for an edge in the market.

“We are pleased to host you in the region because your presence will improve communication infrastructure in the region,” he stated.

CA Director General Francis Wangusi said the regional office will bring services closer to clients and consumers in the North Rift and Western regions thus saving on money and time.

“Currently we only have the regional manager and four other professionals but we intend to increase the number to full capacity by end of the year,” he promised. Wangusi noted that the office is expected to cover approximately 15 counties in the region.

“The office will be mandated in enforcement of compliance, issue licences to postal and courier services, oversee broadcast activities and light enforcement of spectrum usage,” he added.
