Ex-MP, Narc-K official dies

The Narc-Kenya legal adviser James Kibicho has died.

Kibicho died on Tuesday night at Nairobi Hospital where he was rushed on Monday after developing health problems.

According to his son Mwangi Kibicho, the late party official had earlier been hospitalised in India and was flown back home after his condition improved.

“I am confirming to you that my father has been called by his Maker and we as a family have humbly accepted God’s will,” Mwangi said on phone .

He said the body has since been transferred to the Lee Funeral Home pending burial arrangements.

Kibicho once served as Ndia MP after trouncing Kinyua Mbui, the immediate former holder of the seat, during the 1997 General Election.

He, however, lost the seat to Njeru Githae in 2002.

He unsuccessfully contested the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat during the March 4, 2013 before retreating to his legal practice where he led a quiet life until his demise.

He will be remembered as one among the first batch of African lawyers Kenya, having joined the legal fraternity before independence.

Yesterday, Mwangi said the burial date for his father, who died aged 70 years, will be announced once arrangements for his interment have been finalised.
