NAIROBI, KENYA: Former Bomet MP Nick Salat has been allowed to challenge victory of Prof Wilson Lesan as the Senator of Bomet at the Supreme Court.
Salat had challenged Lesan’s win at the High Court and lost with cost amounting to Sh78 m, the highest a petitioner had been slammed with in the country.
The court of appeal judges dismissed salat appeal that it was filed out of time but the Supreme Court Judges have given him a life line to file his appeal within 14 days from today’s ruling.
Speaking outside supreme court, Salat said he was happy with the decision and said Bomet people have a chance to table their case and be heard in court.
His lawyer Titus Koseyo welcomed the decision of Judge Ibrahim Mohamed and Smokin Wanjala saying that the judges have given them a chance to have their day in court.
