THARAKA NITHI COUNTY: Police have begun investigations on the cause of death of a man whose body was found in Nithi Bridge on Monday.
The deceased body was discovered by motorists drawing curious onlookers who surrounded the area to view the body.
Speaking to The Standard Maara OCPD John Njihia said the deceased suspected to have been shot five times is well built man in his early 40s.
Police found five cartridges and handkerchief at the scene which they said will help with investigation.
Local residents could not identify the body.
“It is likely that the man was killed somewhere else and his body disposed here,” Mr Njahia said.
The body had bullet wounds a clear indication he was murdered although no blood stains were spotted in the scene "He said.
The area police boss said they are yet to establish the motive behind the homicide.
"We did not find any documents or a mobile phone to help police easily identify him. We are appealing to members of the public who have lost their relatives or a friend to come and help identify the deceased,” He said.
The body was taken from the scene and is lying at Chuka sub county hospital Morgue waiting to be claimed.
