Embu County Director of Education Beatrice Makau has ordered a probe into an incident where a student at Kamama Boys’ High School in the county was suspended for allegedly engaging in fraud.

The Form Two student was suspended last Friday for allegedly fraudulently withdrawing Sh6,000 belonging to another student from the school’s student account.

In the suspension letter seen by The Standard, the principal, Obadiah Mwatha, said the student was expected to pay the money in full.

The student was also to report back accompanied by the parent and would undergo counselling.

The student’s father, however, was dissatisfied with the explanation on how the boy came to withdraw the money.

He sought the assistance of Embu North district education office and an official, Njue Gacewa, wrote to the principal requesting him to explain how the incident happened.
