KIAMBU COUNTY: Jubilee leaders have been asked to shun unnecessary squabbles and instead work on strengthening the coalition to ensure it delivers to the expectation of Kenyans.

Senator Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu) said while there is democracy in the TNA-URP coalition, leaders should not use it to cause disharmony within by attacking the Government.

Mr Wamatangi said it is unfortunate that as the Jubilee Government grapples with insincere attacks from CORD, some members within the ruling coalition appear to be also fighting it from within for selfish gains.

“We (Jubilee leaders) should be the last people to attack the government. We should remain united so that we can help deliver what we promised Kenyans in our manifestos during the campaigns,” he said, adding that it is regrettable that some leaders in Jubilee appear to be acting for the Opposition.

The senator said Jubilee legislators should ensure the Government’s agenda are implemented and thus help the Jubilee coalition be re-elected.

“We should act as foot soldiers for the Presidency because we are the people who will ensure that the government meets the electorate’s expectations through our legislative role,” Wamatangi said.

Addressing the press in Kiambu town Saturday, the lawmaker said CORD has miserably failed in its role as the official Opposition.
