Ministry develops automated performance tracking system

By Standard Reporter

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Enterprise Development is developing an automated performance tracking system to help monitor the implementation of its projects and programmes.

Principal Secretary Wilson Songa said the tool would specifically monitor the implementation of activities in the key areas of the country’s industrialisation roadmap.

He said the broad objectives of the roadmap are spurring growth through industrialisation, creating general employment, attracting foreign direct investments and increasing the share of manufactured goods in our total exports. Mr Songa was speaking at the end of a two-day workshop at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies to understand how the tracking tool will work.

Heads of department and chief executive officers of the ministry’s corporations and agencies attended the workshop that ran from Monday to Tuesday. The software flags a red signal when something is not right in the implementation process..
