The Parliamentary Committee on Land has put on notice Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu and the Chairman of the National Land Commissioner, Mohammed Swazuri, over their persistent squabbles.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Alex Mwiru, said frequent  infighting  between the two was counter product especially  when members of the public continued to suffer.

“We are warning the two that they face censure by Parliament if they continue with their public spats,” he said. Mr Mwiru, who was accompanied by the committee members, was addressing hundreds of members of the Isahakia community and squatters from Mithuri Village in Naivasha.

He called for the profiling of all the squatters in a month’s time so that the commission can start  resettling them.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega wondered how the Government’s promise of issuing three million titles would be achieved with the infighting.

Naivasha MP John Kihagi promised the squatters that their suffering would come to end following the visit by the committee. The chairman of the Isahakia community, Mr Ali Faarah, told said that investors had grabbed the graves of their ancestors.
