A man hacked his wife to death in a domestic dispute in Ewaso Ngiro, Narok North Sub-county.

The man, a son of a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer based in the area, killed his wife yesterday.

“We have been informed by his father who is an officer with us that the couple have had a troubled marriage that has been characterised by fights,” said Narok KWS Senior Warden William Sang.

The man was arrested by KWS officers and taken to Narok Police Station where he was locked up as investigations got underway.

“We will detain him as we carry out investigations. His father and those who have vital information that the prosecution can use will have to record statements before he is taken to Nakuru to answer murder charges,” said Samuel Mukindia, the Narok County Police Commander.

Meanwhile police continued with the operation to flush aliens out and vet all motor cycle operators in Narok town in a bid to curb crime.

Mukindia said several aliens have been taken to court, adding that motor cycle businesses that would not have been vetted by the end of next week would not be allowed to operate in the area.

“We decided to vet and allocate them routes. Most people commit crime and escape using motor cycles. All those who operate without being vetted will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
