Kenya: Joshua Waiganjo who is charged for being a police imposter will Wednesday appear before Nyeri Chief Magistrate to know if he has a fraud case to answer.
Waiganjo, who is already serving a two-year jail term for illegal possession of police uniform is accused of defrauding three families of Sh280, 000, by alleging he would assist their children join the police service.
Waiganjo is accused of conning the families on the the pretext that he was overseeing ‘a special police recruitment exercise’ strictly targetting Othaya home turf of retired president Mwai Kibaki.
The genuinnness of Waiganjo’s alleged tenure in the police service has dominated hearing of the case, with his lawyer denouncing claims that Waiganjo was a fake.
