London: She is the first and only First Lady in history to run the London Marathon and she has crossed the finish line in style, clocking a little over 8 hours to finish the 42 kilometre race.

The First Lady was participating in the London race to raise funds and awareness for her “Beyond Zero” campaign, which aims at improving maternal and child health outcomes in Kenya. The First Lady went through intensive training both in Kenya and London in preparation for the Marathon.

Prior to the London Marathon, Margaret Kenyatta had organised and participated in the First Lady's Half Marathon in Nairobi, which brought together First Ladies in the region.

The First Lady has so far raised over Sh150m all to be used to buy mobile clinics for the 42 counties in Kenya.
