Baragi, Kenya: Tension is high in Baragoi following last night banditry attack where heavily armed men invaded Tuum village and fled away with unknown number of livestock.
The incident occurred at 4.00 pm when the livestock were grazing in the fields far from homesteads due to the droughts that has affected the area, the herders were incapacitated by the bandits who flew away with the livestock towards suguta valley.
According to the herders the attackers overpowered them and they could not retaliate.
Salesian Lemoosa a victim of the attack told standard that, they had migrated to Tuum in search of greener pastures and water.
"We were certain that security has been intensified in the region ,and that is why we migrated to the area, but we were astonished to be attacked unaware and the bandits fled away with our livestock towards Suguta valley."
Samburu county commander Mr Patric Wambane confirmed the incident saying that the police are pursuing the bandits to recover the stolen livestock.
