Kenya: The Kenya Roads Board has warned members of the public against erecting illegal bumps along major highways. The board warned of unspecified consequences to those found erecting illegal bumps. KRB said the bumps are usually made from soil or gravel and are loosely placed in areas considered to be blackspots.
“The bumps are placed unprofessionally and can only endanger the lives of motorists,” said the boards chairman, Joel Wanyoike.
Wanyoike was speaking at Ministry of Works Offices in Nyeri town, where the board had met Central Region’s authorities in charge of roads maintenance. The board is on a four-day tour to inspect the state of roads and implementation of various projects in the region.
