Gospel crooner Emmy Kosgei is no stranger to controversy.
Her marriage to Nigerian Revival Assembly Church head pastor, Anselm Madubuko, last year had tongues wagging.
But not one to listen to detractors, Emmy went ahead with the wedding and today she has news for you: She is enjoying marriage life and everything that comes with it.
The now Nigeria-based Kenyan artiste known for her rousing performances could not hide her joy as she narrated her experience at Lagos, Nigeria.
“I am enjoying every bit of my new life. God blessed me with a wonderful man who loves and understands me and it has been great months of marriage. We really enjoy each other’s company,” she says.
To her, adjusting to a new culture has not been complicated thanks to support from her husband and his family members.
“My new family received me extremely well and they have played a great role in helping me adjust to the new culture and way of doing things,” the songbird says.
But her private life has since changed.
Unlike Kenya where she says she could walk around freely, Emmy has to be accompanied by security guards in her new home.
“Lifestyle is taken seriously in Nigeria. The fact that my husband and I are always in the limelight means I am accompanied by security guards wherever I go. However, I have learned to cope with it because it is necessary,” she explains.
Her diet as well has since changed although she says her husband does not allow her to cook more often.
“Apparently, my husband does not allow me to cook but I hit the kitchen once in a while. My favourite meal is sweet potatoes — I love the way they cook them,” she says.
Emmy who was in Kenya for her rehearsals in preparation for the Masterpiece Foundation Concert to be held in Netherlands later this year revealed they are planning to get a baby.
“Yes, we want to have a baby, not now though, probably next year,” she says.

With five albums, Emmy is looking forward to ministering the gospel across the world through music.
She says the Masterpiece Concert will be one of her major performances this year.
She will be performing alongside Suzanna Owiyo and other top artistes across the world.
“The fact that I will be performing alongside great musicians across the world makes it one of my biggest performances this year,” she says.
She has plans of marking her 10 years in the industry in Kenya later this year where she has promised her fans a huge concert.
“I don’t want to pre-empt the plans I have but my fans should brace themselves for a really huge and interesting concert to mark 10 years in the ministry,” she says.
She continues to thank her fans for the support and promises to continue being a blessing to thousands of believers across the world.
“I must thank my fans for being supportive. The fact that I have relocated to Nigeria doesn’t change a thing.
