NAIROBI, KENYA: Court has issued order restraining former Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu from taking office as the Chairman of Athi Water Services Board.

The order follows integrity case filed by Mr. John Muriithi who claims Waititu grabbed his land.

Justice Mumbi Ngugi issued the order until the case is heard and determined. The case is coming up on January 22.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime replaced former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo with Waititu as the chairman of Athi Water Services Board early this year.

The former Embakasi MP contested the Nairobi gubernatorial seat on a TNA ticket but lost to ODM’s  Evans Kidero in the March 4, 2013, General Election.

His appointment is contained in Gazette Notice No. 115 dated 10th January 10, 2014. If court clears him then he will chair the board for a period of three years. The notice of his appointment was signed by Environment Cabinet Secretary Judy Wakhungu.
