Pastor’s jilted wife storms airs his dirty linen at the pulpit

KENYA: Members of a church in Vihiga County were treated to a shocking incident during a recent Sunday sermon, when their pastor’s wife stormed the church — two kids in tow, and scandalised him.

The preacher was in the middle of a very punchy sermon, when all hell broke loose.

Ironically, the man of God was preaching about family values. No sooner had he finished saying “hallelujah…can I have a witness…” than his wife charged in.

“Pastor, you should be ashamed of yourself. Look at these malnourished children. How do you advise others when your own family is miserable, eh?” she yelled in the microphone she had snatched from the pastor.

Suddenly, there was aloud silence, with brethren exchanging nervous looks. The embattled preacher stopped and looked deep in his Bible, perhaps to seek divine intervention.

“How do you expect me to take care of these children by myself?” asked the wife. Elderly women came forward and pleaded with her to calm down for the service to go on, to no avail.

When they insisted, she threatened to make good her threat — to strip. They retreated and left her to express her woes.

“I am tired of your silly games. Do you forget you had been interdicted before they sympathised and posted you here? Or have you forgotten you were ‘chased’ from the other church because, instead of preaching the word of God, you were caught engaging in an ‘act of rod’ with a school-girl?

“I stood by you and defended you, not knowing I was sheltering a wolf. You have now completely forgotten about me for another woman in this church,” she hissed.

“For two months, you have not shown up at home. Do you think we have been surviving on manna?” asked the woman. The preacher never stayed at the church and his members had all along been assuming he always lived with his wife.

Considering he was one of the most inspiring preachers the church had ever had, members had avoided questioning his private life.

He had told them of his wonderful family, which he had promised to introduce to his parishioners one day.

Interestingly, the church members had been contributing towards his family’s social welfare. They were disappointed to learn that all the gifts, sadaka and other forms of assistance to the pastor were used by one of the women in the church.

Murmurs of disapproval filled the church as the woman was whisked away by ushers, with some of the brethren marching out in protest.

They vowed never to worship at the church unless the alleged promiscuous pastor was kicked out.

The church’s governing council took the pastor aside, in the guests’ house together with the women in an attempt to amicably solve the dispute.

It was later confirmed to Crazy Monday that the pastor’s wife asked for a divorce.

The church has since expelled him, together with the woman who had secretly been serving him ‘honey’, terming them bad role models, not only to the youth but also to the entire society.
