Nairobi, Kenya: A man caused a scene at a popular supermarket along Tom Mboya Street when he threatened to strip after the inner clothing he tried to return were rejected by the attendants.
One of the attendants at the supermarket said the youthful man, clad in a maasai shuka, had checked in at the supermarket and hurriedly purchased the inner wear without even consulting the concerned attendants during mid morning hours.
“Under normal circumstances, briefs and vests in any supermarkets are well labelled that no one is supposed to return them once paid for and taken out but the man did not even heed our advise on his right size,” said an attendant who identified himself as Paul.
At exactly 3pm on the same day, the man returned to the supermarket. To the amazement of the attendants, he went straight to the second floor wielding his huge club swearing to smash the head of one of the attendants for deceiving him to buy over sized ‘wares’ he tightly clutched on his arms.
Efforts by the attendants to explain to him that such wares could not be returned fell on deaf ears as he sought to see the management about the issue.
At the entrance to the manager’s office, the man threatened to strip if he was not going to be allowed to choose his right size. Alternatively, he wanted his money refunded.
This elicited laughter from the shoppers who milled the area as the man began to adjust his shuka to expose his what was underneath.
The would have been shameful situation was saved by a good samaritan among the shoppers who offered to talk to the manager and paid for the man to choose another fitting inner ear after which he melted from the supermarket with beads of sweat trickling from his forehead.
