Victor Wanyama: Victoria Kimani is my friend

NAIROBI, KENYA: The supposed love between Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama and Chocolate City sensation Victoria Kimani has been the talk of the town for a while, with some penning the relationship as a match made in heaven.

However, that may not be the case following recent rumours that surfaced on the internet alleging that Ms Kimani is a gold digger and that Wanyama was done with her. This comes after it was rumoured that the Mtoto singer is living a posh lifestyle that demands expensive items. Seeing that the situation had too gone too far, Wanyama cleared the air via his Twitter handle (@VictorWanyama), proclaiming that she is his friend and will always remain a friend to him.

The midfielder is reported to be in talks with the sources of the story, which he termed “fake”, and wants them to apologise to Kimani. He described the motives behind the story as shameful and the blog responsible for it as unprofessional.

“The issue has not affected her in any way. She is very busy working her Channel O performance and video shoot for Whoa this week. She is too busy to worry about such misinformed stories,” Angela Angwenyi, the Chocolate City East Africa director, told MondayBlues.
