Thousands of mourners gathered at the home of the late Jackton Puodi, a former KDF officer who perished at the Westgate Mall to pay their last respect.
The mourners thronged the home at Katuma Village in Homa Bay District to send off the army Officer who died at the age of 27 in the attack believed to have been carried out by the Alshabaab militia.
During the burial ceremony, family members appealed to the Government to consider employing one of their kinsmen as a sign of respect to the late soldier who died in his duty to defend the nation.
They argued that the late Puodi who was the second last born in a family of six was the bread winner on whom the family depended.
“We are saddened by the death of our son. The only request to our Government is to employ one of the young children in the ongoing army recruitment,” said Okoth Ogoye, the late soldier’s uncle.
