Man dumped for ogling at ‘Miss Tourism’ beauties

A college student in Vihiga County who went gawking at contestants during the just concluded Miss Tourism beauty pageant at Sosa Cottages, Kisumu, should have thought of that old adage about better the bird in hand, than the one in the bush.

When the young man saw hot contestants clad in scanty beach wear, he unwittingly forgot about his girlfriend who was right by his side, and uttered things that irked her. She stomped off in fury.

“How could he say such things about another woman when I was sitting next to him and actually holding his hand?” she protested to friends later.

Crazy Monday learned that the two had just hooked up a few weeks prior to the event, and that it was the lady who had suggested they go for the event.

“In fact, she is the one who had paid for the tickets, as she really wanted to enjoy the night with him at the hyped event,” a friend revealed.

Demeaned

It is, however, not clear what the man had said as the eyewitness only mentioned that it demeaned her as a woman and rubbished the sacrifices she had made for him.

 Her friends who were seated close to them said the young man had taken quite a bit of beer, and maybe that could have temporarily impaired his judgment. But the young man’s colleagues disproved his girlfriend’s reaction saying that many men, even those who are married, always fail to control themselves when in the presence of beautiful women and that in this case, the scanty clothing on offer didn’t help matters.

“Men — married ones included — always have a herculean task keeping their eyes from darting all over the place whenever pretty women are around. And nothing excites a man like a curvy woman in high-hills cat-walking with her vitals only hidden with leaves or a stringy bikini at a beauty contest,” said one of his friends. 

Dumped

It appears that was an excuse the young man’s girlfriend wouldn’t entertain because she dumped him on the spot. His efforts to blame the devil for the slip of the tongue — or was it the slip of the eyes? — as he begged for forgiveness bore no fruits.

The two former lovebirds unceremoniously left the event and it is not clear if they have mended things up since as they boarded different vehicles back to college.
