Falling tree kills three-year-old baby girl

Taita-Taveta County: Tragedy befell a village after a tree fell and killed a three-year-old baby girl in Taita-Taveta County. Villagers of Chome in Wundanyi division are still reeling in shock following the death of the girl identified as Catherine Nyali.

Police and villagers said the father to the deceased was cutting a tree on his farm and in the process it fell and killed her on the spot.

“The girl is said to have accompanied her father at the time of her death. We were just called to see the girl whose body was covered by tree branches,” said one of the villagers. Taita OCPD Joakim Omogeni said investigations into the incident had been launched.
