Narok County: Police in Ololulunga station are holding a woman arrested for impersonation.

Phyllis Wanjiru was apprehended at Ololulunga parish church where she had pretended to be a Catholic sister.

Narok South OCPD Isaac Meme said police was alerted by the church father of a suspicious woman who was claiming to have been robbed of her personal effects on her way from Sirare.

“We were called after the woman gave contradicting information. She wanted to see Father Edward yet she was talking to the priest himself,” said Meme.

Bank transactions

On further investigations, the woman was found to have done some transactions at a bank in Narok.

When police searched her bag, they found several clothes belonging to Catholic nuns, two passports and Sh3,000.

Meme said when asked where she was based, the woman said she had been fired from sisterhood a few months ago.

“We shall have her in our custody until investigations are completed before charging her in court,” said Meme.

The OCPD appealed to members of public who may have fallen prey to her impersonations to volunteer information to enable the police compile a strong case against her.
