Weight loss requires time and commitment. Forget the many quick fixes in adverts, it boils down to mindset, eating habits and activity. If you neglect these aspects of life, you will slowly put on weight. Here’s the right, healthy path:
Incorporate a daily plan and make a conscious effort to monitor and implement a nutrition and activity strategy.
It’s quite simple, what you put in is what you get out. The more methodical and proactive you are with your lifestyle strategy, the quicker you will accomplish your weight loss goals.
As a weight loss and lifestyle coach, I have noticed that every one is different and have varying commitment, desire and intensity levels.
Lifestyle solution
Interestingly, 90 per cent of people who start a weight loss programme actually fail within the first week. That’s why it is imperative that each individual find a lifestyle solution that best suits their individual needs.
Some overweight individuals take on crazy programmes that are designed for professional athletes or follow crazy celebrity weight loss programmes they spotted in women’s magazines.
No wonder the failure rate is so high and people get so disillusioned and quit within the first week.
A lifestyle weight loss programme has to be customisable. If you are overweight, you don’t want to kill yourself within the first week with an intense activity programme.
Deadly moves
Establish your goals and implement your nutrition plan first. To avoid deadly repercussions, it is wise to give yourself a week to adjust to your new eating strategy first.
Once you become comfortable with this, slowly start to introduce your activity strategy. Start with two small sessions a week and see how it feels.
If you can do more, do a little extra. Do not to rush things or you will become easily dejected. If you can implement a nutrition strategy and a few activity sessions in a week, you will absolutely lose weight.
Remember it’s not a race or a competition but a lifestyle adjustment that you can maintain.
